Mansfield's Home Team Is Done for 2026. Its New Stadium's Highest-Stakes Games Haven't Started.

The last North Texas SC home match of 2026 ended on September 13 in a 0-0 draw at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium. North Texas then beat Houston Dynamo 2 in a 4-3 shootout. A week later the club lost 2-1 at Colorado Rapids 2 on Decision Day and finished 8-10-10. That put it 10th in the West, outside the playoff field.

The stadium on Stadium Drive is still busy. Between mid-October and early December, it hosts an international women's rugby match, the Big 12's soccer championship and the opening rounds of the Concacaf W Championship. In that tournament, spots in the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics are on the line. The building opened as the home of a men's development club. Its first fall belongs mostly to women's national teams and college players, and those games matter more than anything the stadium hosted all summer.

What the First Season Set as a Baseline

The City of Mansfield owns the stadium. REV Entertainment and Hunt Sports Group run it together, Perkins&Will designed it, and Moss Construction built it. It first opened to the public on June 6 with a community training session for Team Czechia. Czechia used the venue as its base camp during FIFA World Cup 2026.

North Texas SC opened the stadium on July 4 with a 3-0 win over St. Louis CITY2. The club reported 5,694 fans. The Fort Worth Report described the crowd as nearly 6,000 in a 7,000-seat venue. So the opening-night crowd still left about a thousand seats empty. After that night, the club went 3-2-4 at home and scored 15 goals in its Mansfield matches.

Those numbers describe a minor-league home team's first summer. The fall events are a different kind of booking. They bring national federations and a Power Four conference to Mansfield, and their fans come from well beyond the city.

October 17: Rugby Comes First

The USA Women's Eagles play Italy on Saturday, October 17. Kickoff is 5 p.m. and doors open at 4 p.m. The stadium announced the match back in July as one of its first bookings, alongside the FC Dallas summer friendly with Orlando City SC.

Tickets and parking are sold through the AXS event page. As of early October, that page did not show a ticket price. If you are planning an evening around the match, check the listing directly rather than going by North Texas SC prices.

November 9, 11 and 14: The Big 12 Signs On for More Than One Year

On September 22, the Big 12 Conference announced a multiyear agreement to hold its soccer tournament at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium. That makes this the first year of a recurring event. The rugby match and the Concacaf rounds are single bookings.

The top eight teams in the final league standings qualify, and conference play ends Thursday, November 5. So the matchups will not be known until four days before the first kickoff. The schedule:

  • Quarterfinals, Monday, November 9: four matches at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. CT
  • Semifinals, Wednesday, November 11: 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. CT
  • Championship, Saturday, November 14: 7 p.m. CT

Two of the three days are weeknights, and the Monday slate runs from late morning into the 8 p.m. kickoff. For anyone nearby, a single match after work is realistic. The Saturday final is the one that will feel like a big event.

Scott Norton, the stadium's general manager, described the booking in terms of the city as well as the venue:

"Hosting this championship is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our facility, the City of Mansfield and the passion this region has for high-level women's soccer."

Thanksgiving Weekend Through December 2: The Highest Stakes of the Year

The Concacaf W Championship includes the region's top eight women's national teams. The United States and Canada are the two highest-ranked teams in Concacaf, and they are joined by Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico and Panama. The tournament runs November 27 through December 5. It begins in Mansfield and finishes at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.

Mansfield hosts four of the tournament's five matchdays:

  1. Friday, November 27: Jamaica vs. Costa Rica at 4 p.m., then the defending champion United States vs. El Salvador at 7:30 p.m.
  2. Saturday, November 28: Canada vs. Panama at noon, then Mexico vs. Haiti at 3:30 p.m.
  3. Tuesday, December 1: both semifinals, at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  4. Wednesday, December 2: two Play-In matches between the quarterfinal losers.

Each ticket covers both matches on the selected matchday. One ticket on the Friday after Thanksgiving gets you two national-team matches, one of them the U.S. team. The third-place match and the final are in Houston on December 5. The quarterfinals carry the most at stake. The four teams that win in Mansfield on November 27 and 28 qualify automatically for the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027. The four that lose move to the December 2 Play-In, the tournament's last matchday in Mansfield, where they play for Concacaf's two berths in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 Play-Off Tournament.

If you are checking schedules, the semifinals are labeled differently in different places. The stadium's event page calls the 4 p.m. match "Semifinal 1" and the 7:30 p.m. match "Semifinal 2." Concacaf reverses those labels for the same matchups. The times and pairings agree.

Before You Drive Over

The stadium's address is 3405 Stadium Drive. It has more than 7,000 fixed seats. If you went to a North Texas SC match this summer, some of the rules will be familiar, and some will change by event:

  • Parking is cashless, and prices vary by event. For North Texas SC and FC Dallas matches, Lots A, B and C cost $16 before tax in advance and $25 per car on matchday. No published source confirms those rates for the rugby or Concacaf dates. AXS sells parking as an add-on for the rugby match.
  • Bags must be soft-sided and no larger than 16 x 16 x 8 inches. Backpacks are not allowed, except qualifying single-compartment drawstring bags. Diaper and medical bags are exceptions, and bags may be inspected.
  • There is food next door. Fields at Station 63 is nearby, and its complex includes two restaurants and event spaces.

The stadium is the centerpiece of the planned Staybolt Street Entertainment District. The plan calls for retail, family entertainment, hotels and a conference center. That description comes from a November 2025 announcement, and those pieces are still plans. This fall, anyone coming to a match will find the stadium and Fields at Station 63, and not much else yet.

The Same Weeks, Downtown

Mansfield's own calendar runs alongside the stadium's. On Thursday, October 15, two days before the rugby match, Haunt the Block starts at 5 p.m. in Historic Downtown. It spreads across the 100 block of Main Street, the Wallace Hall Art House at 210 S. Main St. and Geyer Commons at 605 E. Broad St.

On Saturday, November 7, two days before the Big 12 quarterfinals, the Veterans Day Parade & Salute runs from 10 a.m. to noon. It goes down Broad Street and finishes with a concert at Julian Feild Park, 1531 E. Broad St.

Put the two calendars together and Mansfield has something going on almost every weekend from mid-October to the first days of December. Downtown events alternate with stadium dates, and the stadium dates bring in teams from the Big 12 schools and eight national federations.

Planning to host family over Thanksgiving weekend, or wondering what a recurring Big 12 tournament could mean for your corner of Mansfield? Amanda Beames follows these local changes closely and is glad to talk through them with you. Schedule a free consultation, and we'll go over what the new stadium district means for your block.
